All Jurassic Films Are Streaming on One Platform This June!

Prepare to awkwardly take off your sunglasses and gaze at the screen in wonder as all the Jurassic films will be accessible for streaming on the same platform. Starting in June, Peacock subscribers will have the opportunity to stream the entire Jurassic Park franchise, which includes six movies. This means that the original three Jurassic Park films, along with Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, will be added to the streaming service’s library. The latest film in the series, Jurassic World Dominion, was already made available on the streamer earlier this year, so fans can catch up on the franchise before the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth with a much-anticipated rewatch.

As a cinephile, I can hardly contain my excitement when I find out that a franchise’s entire collection is streaming in one place, and that time has come! With no expense spared, the streamer will now host all six Jurassic movies, alongside the original Matrix trilogy, the Fifty Shades series, classics like I Am Legend, and comedies such as Happy Gilmore. If dinosaurs are your passion, then you won’t want to miss out on the three animated features from The Land Before Time series that are being added to Peacock as well!

The Jurassic series kicked off in 1993 when Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park hit the screens. This billion-dollar blockbuster revolutionized the adventure genre with its advanced special effects, resurrecting long-extinct monsters and keeping viewers gripped to their seats. Universal Pictures enjoyed a massive success with Jurassic Park, further cementing Spielberg’s reputation as a blockbuster maestro. Spielberg later directed The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997, a sequel that reignited interest in dinosaurs, but didn’t quite impress the critics. A few years after, Jurassic Park III was released with stunning special effects under Joe Johnston’s direction. Despite earning $368.8 million at the box office, it remains the least profitable film in the series.

Will ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Revive the Dinosaur Franchise?

The Jurassic Park franchise lay dormant for 14 years until 2015 when Colin Trevorrow revitalized it with Universal Pictures. In the movie “Jurassic World”, a theme park finally opens, but chaos ensues once more as dinosaurs escape. Fans were thrilled to see their favorite creatures again, and “Jurassic World” went on to be the highest-earning film in the series. The sequel, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”, followed suit, although attempts to broaden the storyline beyond the park or an island didn’t fully satisfy critics.

The film “Jurassic World Dominion” served as a chance to revitalize the franchise. Director Colin Trevorrow took up the reins once more, aiming for another hit like the 2015 comeback. Moreover, the original three characters from the 1993 movie returned to their roles. Despite earning $1 billion at the box office, “Dominion” faced severe criticism and currently has a low rating of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, the lowest in the franchise. However, this doesn’t mean the series is over. There’s still potential for more development.

On July 2, 2025, dinosaurs are set to return to the silver screen in a brand new chapter of the Jurassic World saga, titled “Jurassic World Rebirth”. This upcoming movie is said to be a fresh take on the Jurassic World phase that featured Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, where humans attempted to tame the ancient beasts. The actors won’t be reprising their roles, but this new installment offers an exciting chance to revitalize the Jurassic universe. In “Rebirth”, dinosaurs remain the fierce creatures that captivated audiences in 1993. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film intends to reignite fans’ trust in the franchise by staying true to its roots and judging from the trailers, it seems the director is well on his way to resurrecting this series from oblivion.
