Last year, during Donald Trump’s successful bid to return to the White House, Elon Musk was reportedly using drugs more heavily than had been previously understood, according to a report by The New York Times published on Friday.
According to news outlets, Elon Musk is said to have regularly used substances such as ketamine, Ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and potentially Adderall. His drug usage appears to extend beyond occasional use.
The newspaper says that Elon Musk has been using drugs like ketamine, Ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and possibly Adderall more than just occasionally.
Informal version: Newspapers claim that Elon Musk doesn’t just dabble in drugs, he’s reportedly been using ketamine, Ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and maybe even Adderall regularly.
According to reports, he allegedly shared with others that excessive ketamine usage was causing him issues with his bladder. The Times mentions this as a well-documented consequence of prolonged use.
The accusation suggests that drug use occurred during a time when Musk was navigating personal issues in his relationships with multiple child’s mothers.
The Times suggested that Claire Boucher, famously known as Grimes and mother to three of Elon Musk’s children, was vying for control over their five-year-old son X. The child has been seen alongside his father in the Oval Office and at other significant political gatherings.
As a concerned parent, I’ve privately voiced concerns to those close to me about the public appearances of my children, as they allegedly contradict our previous agreement with Mr. Musk to maintain a low profile for the sake of our kids, an arrangement that hasn’t been publicly disclosed before. I’ve expressed my apprehension about their safety and shared my fears that constant travel and sleep deprivation are detrimental to their health. These sentiments were recently reported by The Times.
The Times expressed uncertainty over whether Elon Musk, the contentious CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was using illicit substances during his involvement in Trump’s second term, specifically while heading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project.
According to reports from The Times, there were concerns among some individuals close to Musk regarding his past drug use, erratic behavior, and obsession with increasing the number of his offspring, as he supported Trump’s previous re-election campaign.
Musk and his legal representative declined to comment on allegations concerning his drug usage and private matters, as reported by The Times. Similarly, The Times states that The White House did not respond to inquiries regarding whether they had requested Musk to undergo drug screenings.
Following the publication of the article in the Times, the newspaper observed that White House spokesman Harrison Fields released a statement praising Elon Musk for reducing government spending, yet remained silent regarding Musk’s alleged drug use.
Musk has a history of recreational drug use, The Wall Street Journal reported last year.
In his highly publicized interview with Don Lemon in March 2024, the ex-CNN anchor questioned him about his drug usage. Musk admitted to using a modest amount of ketamine, approximately once every fortnight, which was prescribed for occasions when he felt down or had a pessimistic outlook on things.
As a gamer, when I’ve overindulged in a certain virtual substance that mimics ketamine, it leaves me unable to focus on the tasks at hand. Unfortunately, I’ve got a mountain of work stacked up and time is ticking by.
According to The Times, they discovered that he had developed a much more severe addiction, and those acquainted with his drug habits confirmed he frequently used them, even daily, and occasionally combined them with other substances.
As I ponder over the fine line that exists between medical and recreational usage, it’s a concern that stirs unease within my circle of confidants, as reported by the Times.
Musk reportedly contributed funds towards Trump’s reelection bid as well. At one point, it seemed he had pledged to donate $45 million per month to back Trump, but later refuted having made such a promise. Subsequently, he funneled his money into a political action committee advocating for Trump, known as AmericaPAC.
Musk’s shift towards political views on the right side and his corresponding online activities, particularly on his revamped Twitter platform, seemed to have a significant impact on Tesla’s brand image and sales, as well as those of his other ventures. On Wednesday, the tech mogul announced that he would be disengaging from government work and devoting his attention primarily to Tesla and SpaceX companies.
