Alf Clausen, the long-time composer who created the music for “The Simpsons” over a span of 27 years, as well as providing melodies for “Moonlighting,” “The Naked Gun,” and “ALF,” has passed away at the age of 84. After a prolonged battle with Progressive Supernuclear Palsy (PSP), his daughter Kaarin Clausen confirmed his passing on May 29 via an Instagram post, stating that he had passed peacefully. Accompanied by a series of photos, she reminisced about cherished moments with her father, writing in the caption: “Here are some of my favorite memories with my Dad.
I’ll forever cherish his goofy humor, the aroma of his music sheets in his studio, the time he stood up in our Rabbit Convertible to lower a railroad gate after I stalled the car on the tracks, his greetings starting with ‘Hi, Dudette,’ and all the countless ways he supported me. He made an indelible impact on this world and touched millions of lives, and I’m honored to call him my ‘Father.’ May you find peace, Maestro. You will be deeply missed.
