After Aamir Khan, Rajpal Yadav gets real about nepotism in Bollywood: ‘Main to ek ko bhi nahi…’

The issue of nepotism has consistently been a topic of discussion, with everyone having their unique perspective. Recently, Rajpal Yadav added his voice to the conversation, stating that nepotism is not just a myth but an existing phenomenon. He further supported his argument by naming stars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar among others.

In a recent conversation with ANI, Rajpal Yadav asserted that nepotism is non-existent in the film industry. He emphasized his intention to be straightforward about this matter. The actor from Bhool Bhulaiyaa argued that if nepotism truly existed, then stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Johny Lever, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, and Dharmendra would not have made it big.

The actor openly shared that he aspired to be part of Bollywood or theater, and none of his family members pushed him towards this path. He also disclosed that he informed his children that no external force can dictate a career in sports or cinema. Instead, he believes that an individual’s inherent talent is what determines their capability in these fields.

Rajpal asserts that regardless of his actions, such as pushing others, he cannot shield them from the hardships they may encounter later in life. The actor from De Dana Dan contends that a person’s initial opportunity for success is largely determined by fate or public opinion, rather than nepotism, implying that their ability to succeed depends on divine intervention or audience approval.

For the past 38 years, I’ve been an actor. I have around 200 family members, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to help them in their careers…it’s a matter of blessings and hard work. Ultimately, it is the audience who makes the final decision.

In a different conversation with Raj Shamani, Aamir Khan discussed the nepotism issue further, asserting that he hasn’t meddled in his son Junaid Khan’s career and has no plans to do so in the future. Moreover, the seasoned actor emphasized that it is impossible for anyone to elevate another person’s career in the acting world.

In terms of his career, Yadav is presently thrilled about the premiere of his film, titled “Interrogation,” on the streaming platform, Zee 5.
