Elden Ring Nightreign Version 1.01.1 Makes Single-Player Easier

Summary

  • Elden Ring Nightreign‘s latest update is now live.
  • It addresses complaints that the game is too hard in single-player.
  • An automatic revive mechanic is now available in solo play.

A new update for Elden Ring, titled Nightreign, has arrived! This patch brings positive changes specifically for those adventuring alone in the game. Due to player feedback regarding the game’s balance, FromSoftware is providing an enhancement to all single-player experiences, aiming to make gameplay smoother and more manageable.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no progress on the matchmaking improvements that many have been eagerly awaiting. Despite the long queue times being acknowledged as an issue, it appears they won’t be addressed in the upcoming patch, so be prepared for potential extended waits if you’re looking forward to trying out the multiplayer.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s June 2 Update Rolls Out On All Platforms

As per the patch notes, the following changes have been made to single-player:

  • The effect “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat”, which allows revival once per night boss battle, has been added to solo expeditions.
  • The amount of runes gained has been increased for solo expeditions.

Based on these observations, it appears that there won’t be any adjustments to make enemies easier in single-player mode for now. The creative community of modders has already attempted to balance the difficulty if the update falls short, and they are expected to continue doing so as we all endeavor to conquer this new game from FromSoft.

Regarding matchmaking, we’ll need to observe if there are any enhancements in the future. At the moment, it appears that individuals who queue as duos are encountering issues, as they are finding it difficult to locate another player to complete a team. However, playing as a duo isn’t an available option within the game yet. It has been proposed that this feature may be introduced post-launch, which means you might not need to rely on random players for much longer when queuing with your buddy.

Right now, the game Elden Ring: Nightreign has been released! You can find it on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. It’s important to note that while the multiplayer is cross-generational, it doesn’t support cross-platform play. This means PS4 and PS5 players can join forces, but unfortunately, they won’t be able to team up with anyone using an Xbox or PC.
