Cintima Mounts Short Film Festival “Celebrating Intimate Storytelling” in Three Minutes or Less

The accredited intimacy coordinator training organization, Cintima, is launching its first-ever short film festival showcasing pieces that delve into the intricacies and artistic expression of intimate scenes in film, each lasting no more than three minutes.

On October 16th, the one-night event known as the Flicker Festival is set to take place at Culver City’s Culver Theater. The event is currently accepting submissions for various projects that can range from narratives and documentaries to animations. In accordance with the organizers, works should be no longer than three minutes in length to demonstrate that even brief moments, or ‘flickers’ of time, can reveal deep emotions and intimate depictions. The deadline for submissions is September 15th, and selected works will be announced by September 22nd.

Cintima has gathered a talented team of artists to form Flicker Festival’s inaugural jury for this year. This esteemed group consists of Oscar-nominated actress Danielle Deadwyler, producer-director Miranda Bailey, filmmaker Amanda Kramer, producer Seth Caplan, actor Clark Moore, intimacy coordinator Alicia Rodis, filmmaker Almog Avidan Antonir, actors Chris Chalk and Leila Djansi, producer Jiarui Guo, and filmmaker Roxy Sorkin.

Beyond showcasing selected pieces, the Flicker Festival plans to exhibit steamy sequences from John Cameron Mitchell’s R-rated film, Shortbus, along with other significant films containing intimate scenes. The jury will be tasked with bestowing accolades for categories such as Best Short Film, Best Performance, Most Intimate Scene, Best Application of Digital/Artificial Intelligence and more.

Cintima has collaborated with various entertainment giants like HBO, Netflix, AppleTV+, Showtime, Paramount+, CBS, Amazon, Sony, and more on numerous projects such as “The Righteous Gemstones”, “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, “Westworld”, “The Afterparty”, “I Want Your Sex”, “Spider-Man: Noir”, “American Gigolo” and “Rebel Moon”.
