Elden Ring Nightreign recovers faster than a two-phase boss, hitting Mostly Positive reviews on Steam as FromSoftware drops patches to improve the solo and duo experience

Similar to a skilled boxer recovering from a tough fight, Elden Ring Nightreign appears to be making an impressive recovery. Initially, its Mixed Steam reviews were leaning towards negative, but as developer FromSoftware has been releasing helpful updates this week, the 75% Mostly Positive rating is creeping back up.

Before Nightreign was launched, it appeared as though FromSoftware had some apprehension about how players would respond to their co-op roguelike game.

In a prelude to the launch of Nightreign, update 1.01 subtly adjusted balance aspects and rectified some technical issues. More recently, with update 1.01.1, it’s now possible for solo heroes to revive up to three times during night-time boss battles.

Addressing the concerns of players on Steam regarding the single-player challenge in Nightreign, FromSoftware has introduced a solution, making it possible for determined Nightfarers to complete the game independently. Moreover, they’ve also pledged duo support for those who may feel isolated while playing alone.

On Twitter, FromSoftware announced they will carry on offering post-release assistance, which includes DLC planned for this year, in addition to introducing a cooperative two-player mode. Originally, director Junya Ishizaki admitted to IGN that the multiplayer option was “unintentionally missed during development” and expressed their apologies for it.

Since FromSoftware is working on resolving the issue, it seems like everyone should be pleased, as their concerns are being addressed, isn’t that correct?

According to a highly-rated review, the toughest character in the game goes by the name ‘Friendless, The Solitary Gamer.’ It seems that even developers FromSoftware might find this foe challenging.
