Things are looking up for One of Them Days.
Development is underway on a follow-up to the humor-filled film produced by Sony Pictures this year. It’s likely that Keke Palmer and SZA will reprise their roles, along with the movie’s original creative team.
Under Lawrence Lamont’s direction, the TriStar Pictures film written by Syreeta Singleton was released. It debuted in cinemas in January and earned over $50 million at the worldwide box office.
In addition to Chris Hemsworth, the cast of the initial movie also featured Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage, and Amin Joseph.

On One of Those Days focuses on best friends and flatmates Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA), who discover that Alyssa’s boyfriend has misused their rent money. In a desperate bid to prevent eviction, the duo works together under pressure, all while trying to preserve their friendship along the way.
The team behind “One of Them Days” consists of Issa Rae, Sara Diya Rastogi (for Hoorae), Deniese Davis, Charles D. King (Macro Film Studios), James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks. This project was developed through Sony’s CoCre lab, a past collaboration between the studio and ColorCreative aimed at nurturing emerging, diverse screenwriters by helping them develop original feature ideas.

SZA was relatively new to acting and had recently gained acclaim from her Grammy-nominated album “Saturn”. Palmer, on the other hand, is recognized for movies like “Nope” and “Hustlers”, and will next appear in the comedic heist film “The Pickup” alongside Eddie Murphy. Additionally, she will be featured in “Good Fortune”, a production directed by Aziz Ansari, which also stars Seth Rogen and Keanu Reeves.
