At Denmark’s annual design event, 3daysofdesign, Fredericia will reveal the iconic Bench for Two designed by Nanna Ditzel, which first appeared in 1989. This unique and unorthodox seating arrangement, known for inspiring curiosity and fostering connections, is making a comeback with a reissue that pays tribute to Ditzel’s innovative design philosophy.

Originating from Denmark in partnership with Danish furniture brand A. Petersen, the re-launch features the classic black model along with three fresh, vibrant color options: red, yellow, and pink. This expansion mirrors Ditzel’s continuous passion for vivid colors and dynamic shapes. The Bench for Two boasts a distinctive graphic backrest adorned with concentric circles and a solitary red dot, which was inspired by a spur-of-the-moment sketch by Ditzel directly on the prototype, highlighting her instinctive creative approach.

Captivated by the intricate balance found in butterflies, this bench exudes a sense of organic elegance and functional precision. Made from robust maple wood and veneer, it stands as both a technical and artistic masterpiece. Accompanying it is a table meticulously designed to harmonize with the angles of the bench, creating an intimate atmosphere. The Bench for Two and coordinating table can be purchased solely through Fredericia at a price of €8,000 EUR (excluding VAT).
