Oblivion Remastered’s first patch is out now in beta to iron out the RPG’s janky charm, and Bethesda is already working on another one that “will focus on performance”

In a recent development, the remastered version of Oblivion, which was launched on Steam in April, has received its initial update. Interestingly, developer Bethesda has hinted at another patch being in the pipeline as well.

Update 1.1 for Steam Beta users of Oblivion Remastered has been released, but it will become available to all on June 11th. This update primarily addresses and rectifies numerous bugs and crashes, including 11 specific instances and “multiple CPU crashes.” The aim is to provide a more seamless gameplay experience for everyone.

5 quests have received updates, such as one addressing an issue where Savlian would become stuck following the Battle for Kvatch’s Castle Courtyard battle, and another aimed at preventing Vicente Valtieri from losing his hair during the A Knife in the Dark scenario.

In other areas, several animations have been corrected in diverse manners. You may notice that problems related to mounting horses no longer occur, Shambles’ attacks should no longer freeze, and High Chancellor Ocato now has functioning arm movements. Additionally, certain user interface issues such as missing subtitles during interactions with Daedric Shrines and the Local Map not appearing automatically in locations have been addressed.

Bethesda has been tight-lipped about specifics regarding their upcoming second update, only hinting at its focus on improving performance and promising further information when available. In a recent blog post, they alluded to the development of two updates scheduled for release in the near future, so it’s likely that we won’t have to wait much longer for the second one.
