In recent times, Sung Jinwoo has gained immense popularity. Initially, he was the least powerful Hunter in his realm, but an association with a system enabled him to outshine even his past self and all others. By dedicating himself wholeheartedly and maintaining unwavering discipline, Sung Jinwoo discovered that there were no bounds to his growth, eventually transforming into the most potent character in the world of Solo Leveling.
Although Sung Jinwoo possesses immense power and relentless determination, he won’t surpass the title of the strongest anime character ever. Conversely, the claim that Saitama from One-Punch Man is the strongest anime hero faces a significant critique. The creator, ONE, penned this series as a sharp satire of the shonen genre, with Saitama being an embodiment of the ideal shonen protagonist – holding power beyond anyone and anything else. Whether it’s meant as parody or not, there’s little question that Saitama could outmatch Sung Jinwoo in a fight, although the outcome might not be entirely one-sided.
Saitama Begins His Character Arc as the Strongest Fighter
A Strangely Simple Exercise Regimen Unlocks His Powers
In most anime series belonging to the shonen genre, such as One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and Jujutsu Kaisen, protagonists start out weak but gradually become stronger as they progress through their stories due to a power-scaling system. However, there are exceptions like Frieren and Himura Kenshin who follow different paths. Interestingly, Saitama, also known as the Bald Hero, doesn’t fit this pattern.
In the past, Saitama wasn’t extremely powerful, but the first episode shows how he boosted his power through a daily workout regimen: 100 sit-ups, squats, and push-ups each day, followed by a ten-kilometer run. He maintained a regular diet consisting of three meals a day, starting with a banana for breakfast, and minimized his use of heaters and air conditioning. Surprisingly, this simple routine had drastic effects on Saitama, causing him intense pain and vomiting blood. Over time, Saitama reached his current level of strength, requiring only one punch to defeat any opponent.
Saitama Wins Most Fights Without Expending Much Effort
Few Anime Characters Have Pushed Saitama’s Limits
In his current form, it’s hard to determine if Saitama is growing stronger because he’s already so incredibly powerful that any further growth would be undetectable by anyone else. Just like the character Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, the protagonist of One-Punch Man seems to be so overpowered that any increase in his power would go unnoticed. For instance, if Saitama increased his strength a millionfold, no one could tell the difference. This becomes clear in his initial victory against Vaccine Man, who was instantly obliterated by his signature one-punch. The same pattern repeats when Saitama encounters the Deep Sea King, who easily outmatched and defeated the S-Rank Puri-Puri Prisoner. In a surprising turn of events, even the Deep Sea King’s life ends with just one punch from Saitama.
Audience members are thrilled by the intense sparring session between Genos and Saitama. Genos persistently urges his mentor to use all of his strength, but Saitama, not wanting to harm Genos, skillfully evades and dodges attacks. However, when Genos recalls their agreement, Saitama delivers a powerful punch that dominates the TV screen, with his fist growing larger as Genos can only watch in dismay. The punch misses Genos but instead, a massive gust of wind eroded from Saitama’s punch blows away an entire mountain, leaving viewers in amazement.
In this clash, Saitama faces off against Boros, an extraordinarily powerful alien combatant who craves a genuine battle. This is another example of the humorous critique often found in shonen anime, where villains are essentially antagonists due to their continual challenges towards others. Convinced by a prophecy predicting a formidable opponent on Earth, Boros and his Dark Matter Thieves invaded Tokyo. The confrontation is undeniably thrilling, as both combatants appear equally matched. However, with the use of his Meteoric Burst technique, Boros sends Saitama to the moon. Swiftly concluding the battle, Saitama resolves it with a single Serious Punch, annihilating Boros.
What Would Happen If Sung Jinwoo Fought Saitama?
Saitama Would Destroy Sung Jinwoo With a Serious Punch
Initially, the character Sung Jinwoo in the series “Solo Leveling” is the weakest, holding an E-Rank Hunter status and having access to a yet unexplained system. Over time, this system aids Sung Jinwoo’s growth, offering him numerous enhancements and abilities beyond his original power. For example, Sung Jinwoo’s raw strength is so immense that it can destroy, and he manages to slay the Monarch of Destruction Antares on two different occasions. His speed has surpassed hypersonic velocities, while his durability is capable of withstanding attacks from Monarch-level opponents.
Sung Jinwoo possesses expertise in various martial arts and weaponry, enabling him to inflict destruction in numerous ways. His progression is remarkable, surpassing many other protagonists from shonen anime series who usually require years to reach their peak. In the anime “Solo Leveling,” Sung Jinwoo’s active skills encompass Stealth, Dragon’s Fear, Bloodlust, and Dagger Rush, along with several others. Furthermore, he benefits from a diverse collection of passive skills, each with unique effects. These combined abilities have propelled Sung Jinwoo to become a cosmic-level powerhouse in the series “Solo Leveling.
Observing here, Saitama has significantly expanded his repertoire of powerful moves, particularly the Serious Series. These include the formidable Serious Punches, a head-splitting Serious Headbutt, the table-shattering Serious Table Flip, the mysterious Serious Sneeze that devastated half of Jupiter, the watery Serious Squirt Gun, and the acrobatic Serious Side-Hops. It’s worth noting that his moon-obliterating Serious Table Flip was aimed at Io, while his Serious Sneeze left half of Jupiter in ruins. Garou might have momentarily tested Saitama in the manga, but even the self-styled Hero Hunter leaves no lasting impression. As for opponents, only the enigmatic figure known as God seems to be on Saitama’s level, but they haven’t squared off yet.
Sung Jinwoo Doesn’t Stand a Chance Against Saitama
In the upcoming confrontation between Sung Jinwoo and Saitama, it’s likely that Jinwoo will attempt to push Saitama to his limits by challenging him after the One-Punch Man. However, Saitama, with a casual disregard, would effortlessly defeat everyone from Beru to Bellion multiple times, thus depleting the mana resources available to Jinwoo. This is reminiscent of when Jinwoo fought Demon King Baran, where he was able to ultimately overcome the villain by using his strength, skill, and a touch of luck. Conversely, even if Jinwoo coordinates an attack with his Shadow Soldiers, Saitama would remain undisturbed.
To put it simply, while Sung Jinwoo is finding it tough to inflict any damage on Saitama, he might manage to cause some bruising if he successfully employs his Spiritual Body Manifestation skill, which unleashes the full power of the Shadow Monarch. However, even with this technique, Sung Jinwoo stands no chance against Saitama’s comedic alter ego. Normal punches from Saitama wouldn’t have much effect, but a single powerful punch would likely scatter Sung Jinwoo across the battlefield.
Mob Psycho 100’s Mob Could Also Overpower Sung Jinwoo
Mob’s Psychic Powers Are Immeasurable
Likely, enthusiasts of the manga or anime series “One-Punch Man” are familiar with another work by the enigmatic author known as ONE. Similar to Saitama, Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama holds immense power, but it manifests as psychic energy rather than physical strength. Unlike Saitama who underwent rigorous training, Mob is an esper with limited martial arts skills, yet he consistently outperforms numerous adversaries. He also has a gauge that measures his psychic output, and surpassing a specific level triggers his emotions, leading to an “Explosion” event that amplifies his already formidable abilities beyond measure.
In a confrontation between Mob and Sung Jinwoo, it’s clear that Mob would emerge victorious, as he could defeat Jinwoo using only 100% of his powers. If Mob were to activate even a fraction of his hidden potential, Jinwoo wouldn’t stand a chance, not even realizing he was turned into dust. Mob possesses the ability to manipulate reality by influencing the psychic realm, a power that Jinwoo would find difficult to resist. Regardless of the tactics Jinwoo might employ from the System, he would never manage to defeat Mob. However, it’s worth noting that the chances of Mob sustaining injuries in this battle are higher than if Sung Jinwoo were to fight Saitama. Despite Mob’s immense power in the world of ‘Solo Leveling’, he pales in comparison to the strongest characters from anime.
