Fear Street Prom Queen’s Embarrassing Dance Scene Leaves Fans Cringing

I truly hoped to enjoy “Fear Street: Prom Queen”, but unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way for me. A significant factor was the dance scene, which I found quite perplexing.

It caught me off guard that this movie wouldn’t join the ranks of the all-time great horror films. Could it possibly be as chilling and iconic as Ari Aster’s masterpieces, or similar to the Halloween series? I doubt it.

Initially, I found myself quite enthusiastic about the upcoming addition to the “Fear Street” film series, given my prior enjoyment of the trilogy. When the new movie finally arrived, I couldn’t help but express some thoughts on it.

Seriously, What The Heck Was That Dance Scene?

Fear Street: Prom Queen left me underwhelmed. Honestly, it didn’t live up to my expectations at all. I can’t quite put my finger on what I thought I was going to see, but watching it just felt…meh? It’s not the kind of horror movie that I would suggest for beginners due to its graphic violence. If you’re not used to such content, it might be a bit too intense.

Yet, I must confess that while I found some aspects enjoyable, I’m hesitant to claim it as an exceptional film due to the inclusion of an unexplained dance scene in the middle.

Honestly, I’m puzzled by that spectacle! Even though I didn’t spend my childhood in the 80s, I’m convinced that impromptu dance-offs aren’t a common occurrence. And it wasn’t even close to an impressive dance battle, if I may say so. I wasn’t anticipating a masterpiece of dance cinema, but I was hoping for some semblance of rhythm and flow.

Instead of feeling second-hand embarrassment as I watched what appeared to be two adolescent girls attempting to exude a seductive image on screen, it was more like an uncomfortable, indirect embarrassment washing over me.

It Didn’t Even Tie Into The Rest Of The Film

To put it simply, the scene was alright if it connected with the movie’s storyline, but it didn’t. The possibility of its inclusion may be due to their being at prom, which is acceptable, though I’m not entirely convinced. Frankly, I believe such occurrences are relatively uncommon in real life.

At the prom, something unusual occurred – instead of typical rivalries, there was a dance-off! In fact, I’ve yet to witness such an occurrence in any other action or comedy film. It was simply… bizarre.

I Don’t Know How It Relates To Slasher Films At All

What I found bothersome is that it doesn’t connect or resemble any other slasher movie in existence. However, what makes this film stand out is its strong connection to many classic slasher films that fans adore. The brutal deaths reminiscent of Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series or the early installments of Friday the 13th, but unfortunately, the dance battle has no connection to those.

It leaves me puzzled about the reasoning behind their decision, its relevance to the slasher genre, or why it was included instead of more typical horror elements. To me, it seemed out of place, unnecessary, and lacked any clear connection to what I expected from a slasher movie – namely, increased tension and more brutal killings.

Okay, that sounds bad, but you know where I’m coming from; it’s a horror movie, not a comedy flick.

It seems like we’ve reached the potential end of the Fear Street series, unless they choose a different path and produce something truly terrifying instead. The future remains uncertain.
