Over time, the relationships have had varying outcomes, and the most recent news comes from the sole married couple from Season 5, Lydia Velez Gonzalez and Milton Johnson, who are reportedly moving towards divorce. Lydia has recently disclosed alleged harsh incidents involving her husband, sharing a sequence of distressing experiences.
Season 5’s Lydia And Milton Are Getting A Divorce After Three Years
Lydia appeared on the “What’s The Reality?” podcast, hosted by Amber Desiree “AD” Smith from “Love Is Blind” Season 6, to reveal that she has chosen to part ways with Milton after three years of marriage. As a geologist, she shared her thoughts on why their relationship didn’t succeed.
Instead of a single issue, it was a series of circumstances and matters that accumulated. When I informed him that I’d let him know when the divorce documents were prepared, his reaction was, ‘I won’t sign the papers unless there’s a Non-Disclosure Agreement.’ This response made it clear to me that I needed to disclose my story and personal experiences.
In the podcast lasting an hour, Lydia discusses several challenges the pair has faced throughout their relationship, mainly focusing on recurring accusations of infidelity against Milton. Towards the end of the conversation, she shared her perspective on their present situation.

In 2023, the fifth season of “Love Is Blind” was released and we couldn’t get enough of it. Although there were plenty of breakups and drama throughout the season, Lydia and Milton emerged as the only successful couple. They gained popularity due to their age-gap romance; Milton being 25 and Lydia being 32 when they began dating. At first, Lydia described their relationship as “beautiful,” but six months into their marriage, issues started arising.
Lydia Details How Milton Handled Her Chronic Illness Alongside Cheating Claims
From my perspective, as I’ve been privy to the information, it seems that Lydia encountered a conversation between Milton and his friend, discussing another woman Milton intended to pursue. They referred to this woman as someone who had been “close at hand” with him and he expressed interest in “spending time with her.” However, when she questioned him about this revelation, he labeled it an invasion of privacy rather than providing a clarification. Furthermore, Lydia has confided in me that numerous women have reached out to her over private messages, claiming they were pursued by Milton in bars. One woman even disclosed that Milton had extended an invitation for her to join him at his hotel during one of his business trips.
Back in 2024, when I received my fibromyalgia diagnosis in September, I found myself considering a temporary break from work. As I pondered this choice, I remembered Milton’s response. To put it simply, he wasn’t exactly thrilled about the idea of me taking time off.
Expressing that fibromyalgia has had a devastating impact on my life is an understatement. Instead of offering comfort, he dismissed my pain by saying ‘You’re not dying, you just need to eat well and exercise.’ I had hoped for his understanding when I asked for a medical leave in October last year, but his response was a flat-out ‘No way!’
Although several pairs from the popular show Love Is Blind have had successful relationships, it appears that Lydia and Milton might be happier apart based on her statements. Milton hasn’t shared his perspective yet, but their situation certainly leaves us less hopeful about the experiment as we approach season 9.
