Over a period of more than ten years, spanning over three television series and numerous films, the universe of Stargate has been meticulously constructed. This construction encompasses an abundance of alien species, spacecraft, adversaries, and celestial bodies that can compare favorably with some of the other “Star” franchises in existence.
In my gaming world, I can’t help but appreciate the intricate details that make the Stargate universe feel so authentic, especially when it comes to the race that started it all – the Ancients, or the ancient aliens who created the Stargates in the first place. It was only natural for them to have their own unique language, and thanks to some clever fans years ago, we’ve been able to decode their communication using a simple substitution of letters and alien symbols.

The last installment of the “Stargate” series, titled “Stargate Universe“, was broadcast on SYFY from 2009 to 2011. Since then, enthusiasts have been meticulously dissecting every minor aspect in Blu-ray and streaming versions, and a clever nuance that had gone unnoticed for years has recently caught the attention of fans on the site Gateworld.
Stargate Universe Easter egg hidden on the Destiny

In the heart of the ancient spaceship known as the “Destiny” from “Stargate Universe,” the crew later named it, the Ancients had dispatched it ages ago to plant Stargates throughout the cosmos and pursue a cryptic signal located at the universe’s core. Although the series concluded without fully unraveling this mystery, it was recently discovered that the Destiny still harbored one final secret hidden within its depths.
As I scrutinized every detail of the spaceship, my sharp gaze caught a tiny script subtly etched on its hull – a secret message left behind by ancient aliens. To my surprise, I spotted the name “Destiny” inscribed there, only visible from specific viewpoints at certain angles. What a fascinating discovery!
Check out some pics of the hidden Easter egg over at Gateworld.
The design of Destiny was among the most challenging, awe-inspiring, and detailed in the Stargate universe, but this hidden Easter egg contributes further to its world-building by showcasing subtle references that creators have incorporated for fans. These references are so minute that it could take years, along with numerous pauses and magnifications, to locate them.
