Hey there! As a dedicated fan, I’m really hoping that Matthew McConaughey and the brilliant mind behind True Detective, Nic Pizzolatto, decide to team up once more for another gripping series. Can you imagine the depth and suspense they could create together? Here’s to hoping for some intriguing plot twists!
Matthew McConaughey is being considered for the lead role in an upcoming film based on the detective character Mike Hammer, originally created by Mickey Spillane in a 1947 novel. The script for this project has been penned by Nic Pizzolatto, and the rights to the Mike Hammer property have recently been acquired by Skydance Productions. After Spillane’s death, the character was further developed in books written by Max Allan Collins.
The individuals involved in production are David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger from Skydance, as well as Guymon Casady, Benjamin Forkner, and Ken F. Levin. Collins serves as an executive producer, while Jane Spillane works together with him as a co-producer.
Carin Sage oversees the film for Skydance.
McConaughey is managed by both WME and Yorn Levine, while Pizzolatto is handled by WME, Gillett Management, and Eric Brooks from Goodman Genow.
Deadline was first to report on the project.
More to come.
