EXCLUSIVE: Ayushmann Khurrana to spearhead an out and out comedy for Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra

Following the triumph of Dream Girl 2, I can’t contain my excitement as I eagerly anticipate Ayushmann Khurrana’s next big-screen performance this Diwali in Thama, directed by Aditya Satpodar and nestled within Dinesh Vijan’s chilling comedy universe. Next up, he’ll team up with Sara Ali Khan for a hilarious spy comedy from Dharma Productions, slated for release in 2026. And now, I can exclusively reveal that Ayushmann Khurrana has officially joined forces with Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra for an all-out laugh fest!

Based on reliable reports, it appears that Ayushmann Khurrana has agreed to star in a whimsical family comedy produced by Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra. This dynamic duo previously collaborated on “Pati Patni Aur Woh”. The source shared that this project will be a full-blown comedy for Ayushmann Khurrana, who has long sought to take on a film in this genre. He’s finally found a script that expertly blends traditional situational humor with a touch of slapstick flair.

It’s rumored that the production of this humorous adventure movie has started, with well-known actors joining in along with leading ladies. The plan is to start filming in September 2025, and the entire shooting process will be completed then. Although the director’s name hasn’t been revealed yet, they’ve already finalized the script, and quietly begun casting for this project. Insiders suggest that a renowned director in comedy will soon join the team.

Following the completion of an unnamed comedy project, Ayushmann Khurrana transitions to a family-oriented drama-comedy directed by Sooraj Barjatya. The filming for this project starts in November. Ayushmann is excited to switch from a comedy role to a family dramedy under the direction of Sooraj Barjatya, as portraying Prem on screen has long been a dream come true for him. He has reserved a significant amount of time in his schedule for the upcoming, still untitled Rajshri production.
