- Toem: A Photo Adventure is now available in early access on Android
- It’s slated to arrive later on iOS and is focused on perspective-shifting puzzles
- Journey as a novice photographer trying to get to a mountain and witness the mysterious Toem
Perspective truly matters, and it’s never been more evident than in the acclaimed puzzle game, Toem: A Photographic Journey. Now accessible in early release on Android devices, and soon to be launched on iOS, Toem is an unexpectedly heartfelt adventure that hides beneath its black-and-white exterior.
As a budding photographer, your mission is to climb a mountain and observe an extraordinary event known as Toem. However, during this journey, you’ll pass through settings inspired by Scandinavian scenery and destinations, encountering numerous characters to interact with and possibly form friendships with throughout the adventure.
Your task is to assist these non-player characters (NPCs) and clear a path to the next destination. For instance, by using your camera to scare off birds that are bothering a ferryman, allowing him to transport you across the water. Note that while you’re not necessarily solving puzzles, the monochromatic aesthetic hides some truly intricate and immersive environments.

Toem is an easy example of relaxed Scandinavian design and was produced by Swedish studio Something We Made. Having already grabbed plenty of accolades, awards and critical praise on other platforms, it seems only natural that bringing it to mobile was the next step.
As a fellow enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that this game, much like the try-before-you-buy model, allows you a sneak peek into its world. You’ll get a taste of Toem, where you’ll encounter a cast of eccentric characters, bask in serene environments, and groove to an enchanting soundtrack. And with an abundance of hidden corners and intricate details, it might even rival the legendary Labyrinth city. So, why not give it a spin? I can’t imagine anyone passing up such an engaging experience!
