Short Circuit Studios’ Townsfolk deviates significantly from their previous game releases, not necessarily in gameplay, but undeniably in visual style. Where Teeny Tiny Towns and Teeny Tiny Trains offer a cozy minimalist design and toybox aesthetic, respectively, Townsfolk presents an almost vibrant, eye-catching appearance. Given this bold new look, it’s not surprising that they would introduce their latest faction with the same flamboyance.

Indeed, they’re none other than the formidable Northmen – or as you might call them, Vikings – embarking on their distinctive longships en route to the settlements of the common folk. These fearsome warriors have set foot in the New World, bringing with them unique architectures, a comprehensive technology tree, and strategies suitable for both Skirmish and Campaign modes of gameplay.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got some exciting news! There’s a fresh new Turn-Based gameplay for those who love a bit of strategy and tactical moves. It’s a perfect choice if you prefer games with a slower pace. Moreover, in the Skirmish mode, you can now save your game multiple times. This means you can experiment with different strategies as per your liking!

Teeny Tiny Terrors

It’s remarkable how much of a departure Townsfolk feels from Short Circuit’s previous releases. It has far more of an emphasis on tactics and a far longer-term style of play, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and I’m sure many fans are glad to see it get plenty of attention.
