During an interview with PC Gamer, the lead of the Skyblivion Renewal Project, Rebelzize, discussed addressing some pesky issues found in Oblivion. According to Rebelzize, while some irritating elements remain in Oblivion Remastered due to its faithful remaster, they won’t be present in their fan-created remake. Among the changes promised are more engaging dungeons and the ability to exit them promptly upon completion, as well as other improvements.
Rebel mentioned, “Many players who are currently enjoying Oblivion may find it aggravating at times due to outdated game design that no longer resonates as effectively as it used to. Some of this dated design is still evident in Bethesda’s remaster, as they haven’t completely overhauled the original, which sets Skyblivion apart, to our advantage.
Bethesda manages to maintain the quirks from their older games that many fans find endearing, as these glitches add a unique charm. The company appears to have retained its original style, as Starfield, too, is an open-world RPG with a knack for being easily exploited. However, this hasn’t stopped fans from flocking to purchase their games, suggesting that they are indeed doing something effectively.
It’s intriguing that both games will coexist, as they are enhanced iterations of the same RPG series. Notably, a larger number of fans can enjoy the remastered version of Oblivion, given its official distribution across various consoles. However, this fan-made remake stands out, catering exclusively to PC players who thrive on Skyrim’s robust modding community.
