As a long-time Disneyland enthusiast and avid gamer with countless hours spent exploring the magical lands of Anaheim, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of excitement about the latest announcement regarding the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country. For those who may not be in the know, today Disneyland revealed that this beloved quick-service dining location is set to undergo an overhaul, transforming into the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. This transformation harks back to Disneyland’s rich history and, as someone who cherishes the nostalgia of classic attractions, I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Currently, Disneyland bears a resemblance to Epcot with numerous construction sites visible and more areas scheduled for closure in the near future. However, the future holds exciting changes as these constructions will eventually unveil enhanced features. Notably, the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country is undergoing an extensive makeover, inspired by its previous inhabitants, the Country Bear Jamboree, promising an enticing new menu and musical experience for visitors.
I’m thrilled to hear that the Hungry Bear restaurant is set to reopen as the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree at Disneyland! This revival of the quick-serve dining location brings back fond memories of the Country Bear Jamboree, an attraction that used to be located next door. Although the attraction underwent a major update at Magic Kingdom and bid farewell to a longstanding character, its absence in Disneyland has been felt for over two decades. The new Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, therefore, is a welcome addition for old-school Disneyland fans like me who cherish the rich history of this magical place.
Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree Brings The Country Bears’ Music Back To Disneyland
The Country Bear Jamboree has been shut down in Disneyland, California, for over twenty years. This retired attraction is deeply missed by fans who long for its return. Previously, I suggested transforming Hungry Bear into Tiana’s Palace considering the modifications to Splash Mountain. However, if that idea doesn’t materialize, I’m thrilled that the upcoming location will evoke Disneyland’s rich history instead.
The Bears won’t be present in person at the new restaurant according to recent news, as it was clarified that this establishment will not offer character dining experiences. Nevertheless, their voices will still be part of the experience, as the restaurant intends to play their popular tunes while guests dine.
As a gamer excitedly exploring the world of Disney parks, I can tell you that visiting Disneyland could offer a unique musical experience unlike any other U.S. Disney location. Not only will you get to enjoy the classic Country Bear Jamboree tunes, but you might also be treated to the country-infused renditions from the new Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Disney World. The music alone is enough to lure me in, but let’s not forget about the delicious food that comes with the experience!
Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree Brings Barbecue Back To Disneyland
At Disneyland, the return of the Country Bears isn’t the only piece of history being revived with the new restaurant. The Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree also recalls a long-absent food style, which has been missing from the park since the start of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge development.
Approximately seventy percent of the land utilized for constructing Star Wars land at Disneyland was previously hidden “backstage” areas where visitors didn’t go. However, to make way for this new planet called Batuu, Disneyland had to raze one section – Big Thunder Ranch. This area, which had stood for over three decades, was a western-themed haven complete with a petting zoo, live shows, and the renowned Big Thunder Barbecue. Many devoted Disneyland fans would attest that this was among the best culinary offerings in the park.
The menu for Hungry Bear Barbecue is still under wraps, but rest assured, the upcoming restaurant will retain the classic barbecue flavors that delighted fans of chicken and ribs in the past. It’s also likely that the new establishment will continue using the beloved recipes from its previous location, as Disneyland understands the appeal of these dishes and sees no need to create new ones from scratch.
Growing up, I’ve always been adventurous when it comes to trying new foods. So, when I visited Disneyland for the first time, I was excited to indulge in unique and delicious dishes that I couldn’t find anywhere else. However, my experience at the Hungry Bear Restaurant left me feeling disappointed.
I’m really looking forward to dining at Critter Country from now on, with the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree being my preferred choice. Its unique menu sets it apart from other restaurants in Disneyland, and it holds a special nostalgic value for me as an iconic attraction. Although an official opening date hasn’t been revealed yet, I plan to visit as soon as possible.
