A Lot Of Euphoria Stars Won’t Be Back For Season 3, But Storm Reid Has Finally Commented About Her Exit

Following the postponement of Euphoria‘s Season 3 in March, it’s delightful news for fans of this exceptional A24 series that filming has resumed. Given that Season 3 might be its last, it’ll be a treat to catch our favorite characters like Rue, Jules, Nate, and others one more time. Regrettably, Euphoria‘s Season 3 will miss some key actors such as Storm Reid, who has now explained her departure from the show.

Storm Reid played the role of Rue’s younger sister, Gia, on “Euphoria,” showcasing remarkable talent. However, as confirmed by Reid in November, her character won’t be appearing in the upcoming season. Despite this, the 21-year-old actress expressed gratitude to the series, feeling honored for being a part of it. During Variety’s Time’s Women of the Year dinner, she discussed Gia’s departure, evoking a sense of heartwarming emotions in me.

It’s a mix of joy and sadness for me. I adore Gia, and playing her character was an incredible experience. Bringing her to life was truly rewarding. I can’t wait for Season 3, as I believe they have something extraordinary planned, and it promises to be fantastic.

It’s truly unfortunate that we won’t be able to watch Gia return for the upcoming season. Her presence added depth and emotion to the series. Through her character, we witnessed the devastating impact of addiction on a family, as well as the heartache of watching an older sibling struggle with it. At this point, the reasons behind the showrunners’ decision to exclude Gia from Season 3 remain unclear. It’s possible that they are planning a five-year time jump and choosing to concentrate more on the main characters’ transitions into adulthood instead.

Regardless of the fact that Storm Reid and Zendaya are no longer teaming up professionally, rest assured their friendship remains unchanged. As revealed to Variety by Storm Reid herself, Zendaya is more than just a colleague; they’re “sisters for life.” She is optimistic that these two talented ladies will collaborate on another project in the future.

In the upcoming third season of “Euphoria,” not only will the actress from “Wrinkle in Time” be absent, but so will Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat Hernandez. Ferreira chose to leave because she wasn’t comfortable with the creative decisions being made for her character. Regrettably, Angus Cloud, a beloved character in the series, won’t appear due to his unfortunate passing in 2023. The absence of these talented performers promises a significantly different feel for the HBO series, leaving me eagerly anticipating how they will handle their departures.

Although Storm Reid’s stint on Euphoria has concluded, it doesn’t signal an end to her impressive acting career. Presently, she is planning to enroll in dance classes for a Paramount film titled Get Lite. Additionally, the Don’t Let Go actress is scheduled to graduate from USC this year with a major in dramatic arts and a minor in African American studies. Her expanding portfolio of achievements indicates that she is merely beginning her journey, and fans can anticipate seeing more of her in the future.

The third season of “Euphoria” might seem altered without talented actors like Storm Reid and others. Nevertheless, viewers can look forward to captivating performances from stars such as Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, and more, as we prepare for more tension and a rollercoaster of emotions.
