Aashiqui actress Anu Aggarwal recalls slapping THIS actor 'so hard' that he broke into tears; Deets

As an ardent fan, I find Anu Aggarwal‘s life story nothing short of extraordinary! From her electrifying debut in Aashiqui to her diverse roles and the infamous slap heard ’round the world that left Mehmood, the veteran star, in tears, Anu has undeniably left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry.

Anu Aggarwal, famously recognized for her debut movie “Aashiqui,” enjoyed a short-lived acting career spanning merely five years. Despite this brevity, she took on a range of diverse roles. In the year 1993, Aggarwal starred in a film titled “Khal-Naaikaa,” where her on-screen slap to Mehmood was so forceful that it brought the veteran actor to tears, resembling a distressed infant.

During an interview with Lehren Retro, Anu shared that she thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Mehmood on Saawan Kumar’s movie. In this project, the actress portrayed a psychotic character and was required to intensify her emotions in every scene. There’s a particular scene where Mehmood, who is cast as a gardener, discovers her breastfeeding. In response, she warns him not to disclose this secret to anyone else.

In a challenging situation, I found myself needing to mentally prepare as it was Mehmood, who resembled my grandfather’s age. His character was so intense, it felt like I stepped out of my own persona. When the scene called for me to slap him, I did so forcefully, which made him cry in response. Afterward, I comforted him with a hug and apologized.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me assure you all that I’m doing just fine and everything is running smoothly. Speaking of which, the talented actress Anu made her mark in several films, such as Ghazab Tamasha, Thiruda Thiruda, King Uncle, The Cloud Door, Janam Kundli, and Return of Jewel Theif. However, one of the most significant achievements in Anu’s illustrious career was the launch of MTV in India, where she graced their initial ventures across the country as a headliner.

55-year-old Anu is one of the people still alive after a tragic accident in 1999. That year, on her way home from a party in Mumbai, she was involved in a severe car crash. This event flipped her life around and left her in a coma for 29 days with numerous bone breaks. Despite waking up, Anu couldn’t remember her past due to the accident.
