As a longtime fan who’s followed Ab-Soul since his days with TDE, I can confidently say that “Squeeze 1st 2″ is a welcome return for this enigmatic emcee. The single, produced by Crooklin and dripping with jazz undertones, feels like a breath of fresh air in the current hip-hop landscape.
Lately, Ab-Soul from Top Dawg Entertainment has been keeping a low profile, popping up occasionally for collaborations with fellow TDE artists like Zacari, Ray Vaughn, Jay Rock and others. But now, he’s back in the spotlight and has released his first solo studio single since his critically acclaimed album HERBERT.
