Capcom, the developers behind Monster Hunter World on Steam, have provided guidance for players experiencing performance problems with the game since its launch, which received mixed reviews from users.
If you’re encountering problems on Steam, the Japanese game company recommends that you update your graphics driver, disable compatibility mode, and then adjust your settings accordingly.
“Thank you all for your patience and support!” Capcom said in a tweet.
One particularly useful review on Steam, labeled ‘most helpful’, states that Monster Hunter Worlds exhibits the “poorest optimization I’ve encountered to date.
They expressed that as newer games increasingly require upgrades, it seems unjustifiable, or put another way, it strikes them as overly excessive. Previously, they’ve observed similar issues with underperforming new releases, like the case of World, but now it just feels unfair given the current state of affairs.
While I’m not implying the game is poor, given its current instability, it might be wise to hold off on playing until a more reliable version comes out.
Another critic’s unfavorable feedback zeroed in on the game’s optimization issues, commenting: “The game’s visuals are impressive, but the performance is abysmal. It runs more poorly than during the beta testing.
To assist Steam gamers in resolving issues, Capcom has released a “Troubleshooting & Common Problems” guide, which offers potential solutions. They encourage PC users to follow these steps to identify if the problem lies with their computer, Steam, or the game’s files.
