Amy Adams Turns Into a Dog in ‘Nightbitch’ Trailer

As a long-time admirer of Amy Adams‘ exceptional acting skills and versatility, I am beyond excited to witness her transformation into a canine (or so it seems) in the upcoming horror-comedy “Nightbitch.” The trailer alone is enough to pique my curiosity, and I can hardly wait for the film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday.

Amy Adams finds herself in a hairy situation in the first trailer for Nightbitch.

On Tuesday, Searchlight Pictures unveiled the trailer for Marielle Heller’s upcoming horror-comedy movie, set to premiere in theaters on December 6. Apart from Heller, the film also features Scoot McNairy, Zoe Chao, and Mary Holland. The story revolves around an artist (portrayed by Adams) who paused her career for motherhood, only to discover that she might be undergoing a canine transformation.

“Adams states in the trailer, ‘I won’t ever be intelligent, content, or slender once more.’ He also adds, ‘And I’m almost positive that I’m transforming into a canine.'”

She continues to ponder the strength of being female and expresses, “Have you ever felt like we’re secretly divine beings? After all, we bring new life into existence. Our power is immense.” At a later point, Adams shares, “I could easily squeeze a walnut with my womanhood.”

Heller took charge of both writing and directing a project adapted from Rachel Yoder’s 2021 novel with the same title. The production team includes Adams, Heller, Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Stacy O’Neil, and Christina Oh.

The movie titled “Nightbitch” will have its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival this coming Saturday. Originally slated for a premiere on Hulu, it eventually found a spot in theaters instead.

Throughout her professional journey, Adams has garnered no less than six Oscar nominations. Among her latest projects are “Disenchanted,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “The Woman in the Window,” and “Hillbilly Elegy.”

In his directing career, Heller has been associated with films such as ‘The Diary of a Teenage Girl’, ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ and ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’.
