As a fan who’s seen it all, I must say, this news about Sarah Sherman joining “General Hospital” came as a total surprise! I mean, who would have guessed that the quirky comedian from Saturday Night Live would become a soap opera enthusiast? I remember her as the hilarious cast member whose response to the “hot women” debate went viral. But here she is, bringing humor and charm to the iconic daytime drama.
As autumn approaches, we’re almost at the edge of seeing an influx of fresh and returning shows grace our 2024 TV lineup. Among the latter group, “Saturday Night Live” is gearing up for its return to NBC, marking its 50th season. However, before that, it seems one of the show’s cast members is stepping into a completely new role. This SNL veteran has recently been announced as joining the cast of the long-running soap opera “General Hospital,” which was certainly not something I had anticipated!
Several stars from Saturday Night Live might pop into your head when thinking about who’s playing the role on General Hospital. But trust me, you wouldn’t expect the actor I’m referring to. Amazingly, Sarah Sherman is the one joining the ranks of this storied institution. She’ll appear in two episodes of the iconic ABC daytime show, airing this week. Interestingly enough, Sherman is a long-term admirer of the classic series and, in an announcement made to People, she shared her excitement about being a part of it: “I can hardly wait!”
I had the best time of my life and I couldn’t believe I got to act in a scene with ‘TRACY QUARTERMAINE’! I was so nervous about flubbing my lines, because I was surrounded by pros who memorize like a billion pages of dialogue a day. Also I met ‘Sonny Corinthos’ [Maurice Benard] so I can die happy!
In a soap opera, a 31-year-old comedian takes on the character of Ms. Finch, an etiquette instructor to Rena Sofer’s Lois Cerullo. A clip has been released showing her using her teaching methods. The star of You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah brings a touch of humor to the situation. At the start, Finch criticizes Lisa LoCicero’s character Olivia for mispronouncing croissant
Isn’t it surprising that Sarah Sherman, known for her quirky comedy style, not only became a fan of “General Hospital,” but also ended up acting in the show? I must admit, I wouldn’t have expected someone like her to be a soap opera enthusiast. However, people are complex and their media preferences can span a wide spectrum. It’s great that Sherman was given the opportunity to work on a show she appreciates so deeply

As I sit here, preparing for another exciting gaming session, I find myself reflecting on my own journey, much like the beloved cast member who has recently announced their departure ahead of Season 50. With a heart full of gratitude and love, they bid farewell, just as I too might say goodbye to a challenging level or a cherished game. They’ve shared some behind-the-scenes moments, fun BTS pics, much like the memories we gamers collect from our own adventures in the digital world. Their spirit of camaraderie and teamwork echoes in every pixel of those images, much as it does in the shared triumphs and struggles of our gaming community. So here’s to new beginnings, to the friendships forged, and to the memories we carry with us, whether on the stage or in the game
Enthusiasts can undoubtedly anticipate Molly Shannon’s return to Studio 8H for the anniversary season of “SNL”. The show’s creators, who are planning a grand celebration as the show turns 50 alongside Jimmy Fallon, are reportedly lining up several big-name stars to help celebrate this milestone. One such star is “Saturday Night Live” legend Molly Shannon, who has expressed her excitement about some major names making an appearance
As a fan, I’m pretty sure that Sarah Sherman, who made headlines with her take on SNL’s “hot women” debate, is going to make a big impact this season alongside her fellow cast members. When she steps back onto that legendary stage, I can’t wait to see her give it her all. On top of that, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for more appearances by her on General Hospital as well!
Don’t miss the comedian appearing in “General Hospital” on September 5 (Thursday) and 6 (Friday). You can catch the rebroadcasts with a Hulu subscription afterwards. By the way, Saturday Night Live Season 50 is set to premiere on NBC on September 28
