As a seasoned gamer with an eye for authentic storytelling and a soft spot for gritty urban dramas, I’m genuinely excited about the upcoming action drama “Sidd”, starring Ana Golja, Dana Abraham, and Dennis Andres. The fact that Abraham penned the screenplay based on his real-life experience as a competitive boxer adds a layer of authenticity that intrigues me.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I, along with my friends Ana Golja, Dana Abraham, and Dennis Andres from Degrassi: Next Class, will be part of the cast for the action-packed drama titled Sidd. Can’t wait to dive into this new role!
Abraham, known for his work in ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’ and ‘Neon Lights’, has also written the script for an independent film based on a former Marine who becomes a boxing coach. This story is inspired by his own experiences as a competitive boxer in real life.
The movie presents the character of Sidd (Abraham), formerly a successful super-middleweight boxer now retired, fighting to maintain his gym in a rough inner-city area. When Dante, his long-lost brother by blood played by Andres, heads a dangerous drug operation that threatens his fighters, Sidd is compelled to delve into the shadowy past he’s been trying to leave behind.
As Sidd forms a bond with his new neighbors, Giselle (Golja) and her child, portrayed by Logan Nicholson, Sidd is prepared to jeopardize everything in an attempt to bring Dante to justice and shield others from harm.
As a passionate admirer, I’m thrilled about the upcoming indie action film from Kemodo Entertainment, which is masterfully directed by Russ De Jong, a former cinematographer turned director. This movie promises an electrifying blend of boxing and military combat sequences, skillfully woven into a gripping narrative that revolves around survival and redemption themes.
Among his works, De Jong has been involved in films such as “Simulant,” a science fiction movie featuring Sam Worthington, Simu Liu, Jordana Brewster, and Robbie Amell; the thriller “Wander” headlined by Aaron Eckhart, Tommy Lee Jones, and Heather Graham; and the drama “The Martini Shot” starring Matthew Modine, John Cleese, and Derek Jacobi.
According to De Jong’s statement, Dana’s experience as a competitive boxer gives him an exceptional realism when playing Sidd. Additionally, Dennis provides the film with a powerful intensity, and Ana brings a deep emotional resonance. It’s not often that actors can offer both physical prowess and raw emotion in such perfect balance.
The action movie features a talented group of actors such as Chris Violette, Ish Morris, Bobby Daniels, and Devonte Lewis.
