It’s quite frequent for actors to keep small set items like props and costumes following a filming session. But I find myself curious about how widespread the practice is of performers keeping prosthetic body parts, such as ears, from a set after the final edit. Interestingly, it seems that at least one individual has done so, as Ariana Grande kept the prosthetic ears her co-star Cynthia Erivo wore while portraying Elphaba in Wicked.
Initially, Erivo used prosthetic ears due to numerous piercings in her actual life. It turned out to be the most convenient method for concealing them. Interestingly enough, Grande also acquired a pair, as previously stated, and during an interview with BBC, she was asked about their storage location. In response, the popular singer revealed where she keeps them. To put it simply, Grande disclosed the location of her prosthetic ears in the interview.
Currently, the items are located right beside the printer. They consist of pens, the printer itself, and Cynthia’s earphones. On occasion, when I host guests or display a tray of things, I might keep them in close proximity as a playful trick to see if anyone gets momentarily perplexed. However, I must clarify that I’ve never actually done this, but I could in the future. Indeed, for now, they are situated next to the printer.
It seems ideal to position the earrings worn by one of the 2025 Oscar nominees near the printer and close to office supplies, as I can’t think of another suitable place for such an item.
Grande continued pondering over the special souvenir she had. She decided displaying them in a frame wouldn’t feel quite right, and humorously confessed that she was growing increasingly thoughtful about it, using her own words. The actress who played Glinda humorously expressed this dilemma.
I believe that’s the top choice for it. The way you’re presenting those seems unusual, don’t worry! Take your time, I’m still mulling it over and getting a bit stuck on it.

Additionally, she felt fond of Ali Plumb’s suggestion to store them in the downstairs bathroom as well. Nevertheless, I believe the printer is a more fitting location. It’s quite unconventional, and given my affection for placing trinkets in unexpected spots, I admire Grande’s choice to place the ears near some essential office supplies. This adds an element of randomness to the workspace.
Given Ariana Grande’s amusing responses to the “holding space” meme and A-list stars like Timothée Chalamet and Elle Fanning mimicking this meme, it’s no surprise that she was game for a laugh about peculiar items she kept from the set. Furthermore, it’s evident that the “thank u, next” artist shares a strong bond with her Wicked co-star, and working on this project was incredibly meaningful to them. Consequently, possessing these ears and keeping them near her printer is both amusing and endearing.
Moving forward with the Oscars approaching and the 2025 premiere of “Wicked: For Good,” I’m optimistic that we’ll get some insights into where Ariana Grande and her team store the memorabilia they collected on set. Additionally, it would be fascinating to learn about Cynthia Erivo’s thoughts on her ears cohabiting with the Glinda actress’s printer… or something along those lines!
