Awake NY and Union LA’s Latest Collaborative Tee Is A Cross-Coast Celebration

As a devoted fan of streetwear culture and the rich history behind iconic brands, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of appreciation for the latest collaboration between Awake NY and Union LA. This unique partnership is not only a celebration of two powerhouse labels but also a tribute to their shared roots in the ’90s-’00s downtown New York City scene.

Name: Awake New York and Union Los Angeles Collaboration T-shirt

As someone who has always been intrigued by the intersection of fashion and urban culture, I find this collaboration between Awake NY and Union LA to be a fascinating tale of shared experiences and East Coast-West Coast connections. Having grown up in the ’90s and ’00s, I can relate to the gritty energy that defined downtown New York City during that era.

A tee commemorating a full year collaboration between Awake NY and Union LA is introduced on Baque’s birthday. The playful reveal is accompanied by images taken by Levi Berlin and featuring Freddie Gibbs. On the front, you’ll find Awake NY’s logo above Union LA’s “Frontman” insignia in a compact design, positioned on the left chest. At the back, a large graphic proudly displays “La Brea to the LES,” honoring each brand’s origins and their respective store addresses, along with two additional logos.

I’ve been excited to see the partnership between Awake NY and Union LA unfold once again. Last summer, they released a collection commemorating the Battle of Curalaba, a historic conflict from 1958 where Chilean rebels triumphed over their Spanish colonizers. In 2021, Union LA chose Awake as one of its collaborators for their 30th anniversary, and they’ve worked on several other projects together since then.

On July 27, 12 PM Eastern Time, the anniversary tee collaboration between Awake NY and Union LA will be available for purchase exclusively at Awake NY’s flagship store located at 62 Orchard St in Manhattan. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $60 USD.
