Barry Keoghan Joins Cillian Murphy in ‘Peaky Blinders’ Movie

As a seasoned gamer of both the small screen and the big one, I must say that the news of Barry Keoghan joining the Peaky Blinders movie at Netflix has me more excited than an 8-bit hero finding a power-up! The fact that he’ll be starring alongside Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson just adds fuel to the fire.

Barry Keoghan has been added as the newest cast member in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie on Netflix, according to recent reports from The Hollywood Reporter.

He’ll co-act with Cillian Murphy, a cast member from “Peaky Blinders,” and Rebecca Ferguson in the upcoming movie. Recently, Keoghan has been recognized and honored for his performances in Emerald Fennell’s “Saltburn” and Martin McDonagh’s “The Banshees of Inisherin.”

The next project revolves around a Netflix hit show, where Murphy plays Thomas Shelby, a war veteran transformed into a gangster, climbing the criminal ladder in 1900s Birmingham, England. Although the movie is advertised as a “follow-up” to the cherished series, specific plot points are currently being tightly guarded.

The creator of “Peaky Blinders”, Steven Knight, penned the script for the upcoming movie. The director of episodes from the initial season, Tom Harper, will be at the helm of this film. Alongside Knight, Caryn Mandabach, Murphy and Guy Heeley will also take on co-producing duties.

Upon the unveiling of the movie, the star of Oppenheimer and Oscar winner issued a statement, expressing, “It appears that Tommy Shelby still has more work for me. … I am delighted to be joining forces with Steven Knight and Tom Harper once again for the big-screen adaptation of Peaky Blinders.”

At the given moment, the Knight himself shared his thoughts. He expressed, “I’m truly excited that this movie is on its way! It promises to be an action-packed addition to the Peaky Blinders saga. Nothing held back. Expect pure, intense conflict – Peaky Blinders at war.”

Harper will join forces with David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason in their roles as executive producers.

“When I initially took on the task of directing ‘Peaky Blinders’ more than a decade ago, we had no idea that it would turn into the phenomenon it is today. However, we sensed that there was an extraordinary blend between the cast and the script that had a powerful impact,” the director expressed during the film’s announcement. “Ever since its inception, ‘Peaky Blinders’ has been about family, so it’s thrilling to be back with Steve and Cillian to share this movie with viewers worldwide on Netflix.”
