Ben Foster’s Drug War Thriller Gets Release Date

Ben Foster, previously nominated for an Emmy for the series “The Survivor” a few years ago, is making his way back to the big screen with an upcoming action-thriller titled “King Ivory.” This movie garnered positive reviews during its limited festival run last year and has now scheduled a release window in 2025.

Drawing upon comprehensive investigations that included interactions with both law enforcement officers and gang associates, we get an unprecedented, genuine glimpse into the clandestine realm of fentanyl smuggling orchestrated by gangs within the Oklahoma State Penitentiary at McAlester, more familiarly known as ‘Big Mac’.

As a movie enthusiast, let me tell you that I’m thrilled about the stellar cast assembled for “King Ivory.” Alongside Jodie Foster and Leonardo DiCaprio, we have Kadeem Hardison (“The Departed”), Michael Mando (“Better Call Saul”), Rory Cochrane (“Black Mass”), Richard Coster (“The Dark Knight”), George Carroll (“The Town”), Sam Quartin (“Candy Land”), Jasper Jones, and Graham Greene (“Dances with Wolves”). The production of this opioid-themed film is being overseen by Jeremy Rosen, who has previously produced “Candy Land” and “One Day as a Lion.” As the official theatrical release of “King Ivory” approaches, the director has shared a statement to mark the occasion.

John and I are thankful to Saban for a broad cinema distribution of ‘King Ivory,’ a film that both entertains and provides a close-up view of the terrifying impact of fentanyl, thanks to an exceptional acting ensemble.
