Ben Stiller has found his next TV project — both behind and in front of the camera.
The executive producer and director of ‘Severance’ will appear in a dramedy titled ‘The Band’, which is being produced by HBO. This project, originating from the co-creators of ‘Search Party’, Sarah Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, is currently under development at the premium network.
In the world of music, the series titled “The Band” unfolds. Ben Stiller, who is also involved in executive production through his Red Hour Films, will portray Oscar – a disgraced pop mastermind and talent magnate embroiled in scandal. His mission: to assemble a fresh act in an attempt to salvage his career and possibly redeem himself. If the series proceeds, “The Band” would mark Stiller’s first continuous TV acting role since he recurred on “Arrested Development,” appearing in both its Fox and Netflix versions.
Studio Media Res, known for creating shows like “The Morning Show” and “Pachinko” on Apple TV+, is collaborating with HBO to produce the series “The Band”.
More to come.
