Black Ops 6 is set to remaster jet pack maps

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the ups and downs of Call of Duty since the early days, I must say, the rumors about Treyarch remastering jet pack maps for Black Ops 6 have me more than a little excited! You see, I was there when those futuristic battles first took flight in BO3, and I can tell you that the map pool was a gem – underrated, perhaps, but a treasure trove for any serious gamer.

In today’s context, the jet pack period in Call of Duty feels like it happened a long time ago, given that the latest game, Infinite Warfare, came out approximately eight years back.

Ever since that point, there has been a consistent demand among players for a futuristic equilibrium, which could take the form of exosuits or specialists. This year, with Sledgehammer reintroducing plasma-firing weapons, we’ve barely scratched the surface in terms of what this might entail.

It appears that Black Ops 6 is planning to widen the portal between dimensions, as it’s rumored that Treyarch is preparing to redesign the original futuristic map.

Treyarch looks to be remastering jet pack maps for the first time in CoD history

Treyarch boasts an impressive collection of jet pack maps, particularly in Black Ops 3, which I believe has one of the most overlooked map sets in Call of Duty’s history. Maps such as Stronghold, Combine, Infection, Hunted, Redwood, and Fringe are all exceptional, but due to the likelihood that jet packs won’t return, they were unfortunately consigned to obscurity in Treyarch’s archive.

Instead of relying on wall-running exo suits, it seems that Treyarch is considering making Fringe a traditional ground-based map. This impression arises from the leaked Black Ops 6 maps, which include Fringe along with remastered versions of other maps like WMD, Hacienda, and Firing Range.

For the very first time, we’re looking at an updated version of the jet pack, paving the way for various maps from games like Black Ops 3 to be adapted for contemporary gaming (or even older times since Black Ops 6 is a title set in the ’90s to early 2000s).

Certainly, some maps have indeed evolved in the opposite direction due to places like Nuketown and Firing Range receiving modern or futuristic makeovers previously. It’s somewhat unexpected that the game creators haven’t introduced a reversed layout until now.

As a longtime fan of the Call of Duty series, I must admit that the thought of seeing Modern Warfare 3 wrapped up with a spectacular finale is quite enticing. Having played through its predecessors and experiencing their gripping narratives and intense gameplay, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement at the prospect of revisiting this universe once more in all its remastered glory. The idea of Solar Remastered brings back fond memories of my gaming days, and I can only imagine how breathtaking it would be to explore the series’ iconic locations with updated graphics and mechanics. So yes, I would most definitely say yes to a Solar Remastered version of Modern Warfare 3!
