Blizzard Battle.net Suffers DDoS Attack as Verdansk Returns to Warzone

Once again within a short span of time, Battle.net servers of Blizzard faced another DDoS attack, coinciding with the reappearance of Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Multitudes of gamers rushed into the Battle Royale setting, eager to explore the familiar map again after a gap of half a decade. However, numerous users encountered an abrupt disconnection soon after Verdansk was activated.

As I sat down to immerse myself in the latest gaming session, I noticed Battle.net was acting strangely. I quickly realized something wasn’t right when I couldn’t log in, and then Blizzard confirmed through their social media channels that a DDoS attack was underway. It turns out, this cyberattack uses swarms of hijacked systems (botnets) to bombard the target server with traffic, making it impossible for users like me to access. It’s frustrating, but I’m hoping they can fend off these digital invaders and restore service soon!

For a while, numerous players found themselves out of the game due to being queued while attempting to rejoin the servers. Eventually, some managed to resume play, only for the servers to crash once more.

A few hours following the initiation of the DDoS attack, Blizzard Entertainment announced its termination. However, the players showed little satisfaction with the situation.

Recently, another assault occurred, happening mere weeks since the previous one. This time, Battle.net users found themselves unable to access multiple games like World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and others due to their servers being hit.

At the moment, it appears that things are operating fine once more, allowing gamers to enjoy Verdansk’s comeback without hassles. However, if you’re still experiencing difficulties, Blizzard suggests implementing these troubleshooting measures.
