As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I must say that the recent revival of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team has been nothing short of a breath of fresh air. Having played countless horror games throughout the years, I can confidently say that this remake is on par with some of the best in the genre.
Story Highlights
- Bloober Team is the proud developer of the newly released Silent Hill 2 remake, which is off to early success.
- The developer has spoken up in a new interview, saying it’s open to remake more Silent Hills.
- Fans demand that the first Silent Hill gets remade next since it’s the most deserving.
For a developer who had only previously worked on games like Layers of Fear and Observer, it was reasonable for both fans and critics to question their ability when taking charge of a project as challenging as Silent Hill 2. However, just two weeks after the game’s launch, Bloober Team has not only met expectations but significantly exceeded them, producing a top-tier product that matches the quality of Capcom’s Resident Evil remakes.
And tell you what? Given the opportunity, Bloober may as well do it all over again.
As a passionate fan, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement when reflecting on Wojciech Piejko’s recent interview remarks about Bloober potentially revisiting a Silent Hill game. With Silent Hill 2 surpassing the million-unit mark in sales within just a month, a feat that significantly outshines the original game’s lifetime sales, it seems that the clamor for another remake has grown even stronger. Here’s to hoping that we, the fans, will get the chance to revisit this terrifying world once more!
I think we are always open. If we like the opportunity, we’ll take it.”
He said, “There are chances you need to grab. Just like Silent Hill 2, you could re-create its legacy. Absolutely, I think anything is achievable.
It seems most fitting for a fresh Silent Hill remake to start with the original game, without a shadow of a doubt. Although games like its sequel offer unique narratives and characters, it makes logical sense to reimagine the initial Silent Hill first, followed by a remake of Silent Hill 3 subsequently.
It’s worth mentioning that it was Konami, not Bloober, who made the decision about which Silent Hill remake to produce. Previously, Konami, who owns the franchise and its intellectual property, announced plans for the future of the series. At present, we don’t know what those plans entail, but there are indeed genuine projects related to Silent Hill in development.
We Now Know What Bloober Is Working On Next
Bloober Team has unveiled their next project at the Xbox Partner Preview event, and I must admit, I’m quite intrigued by what they’re showing. The game is called “Cronos: The New Dawn,” a third-person shooter that seems to have strong ties with psychological horror elements. Here’s hoping it lives up to the hype, but given its creators, I have faith in its potential.
