As a proud Latino who grew up listening to Juan Gabriel’s enchanting melodies, this collaboration between Born X Raised and the late icon’s estate resonates deeply with me. It’s not every day that street culture pays homage to such a legendary figure who bridged the gap between traditional Mexican music and contemporary styles.
Born X Raised joins forces with the estate of the late Juan Gabriel for a unique streetwear partnership, honoring the significant influence of this iconic Mexican artist on both music and urban lifestyle.
The first-of-its-kind partnership is covered with memorializing graphic artwork, which features a blurred image of Gabriel alongside text reading “Amor Eterno” and “‘El Divo’ De Juarez,” which mean “Eternal Love” and “‘The Diva’ of Juarez” in English, respectively. The central motif appears across stadium jackets, crewnecks, T-shirts and candles, while additional “Exitos” hoodies land in royal blue, among other silhouettes. Rounding out the line, BXR car fresheners and sticker packs flaunt the label’s signature iconography.
In this unique collaboration, the campaign for our collection takes on a significant part, as every photograph is captured against the backdrop of a mural by Gustavo Zermeño Jr., featuring JuanGa, at Silverlake Lounge. This venue, already a symbol of cultural significance, is anticipated to attract long-time fans who have appreciated all that our estate has offered in the past – from exclusive limited-edition items like the JuanGa Barbie to memorable concert recaps. As the brand explained in their statement, “This location, steeped in history, will undoubtedly draw in those who have cherished everything we’ve shared.
On this coming Friday, November 8th, at 12:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, you can find and purchase the Juan Gabriel collection by Born X Raised from their online store. Check out the assortment shown in the gallery above for a sneak peek!
