Luxury real estate agents Jon Grauman and Adam Rosenfeld are going out on their own.
The pair, previously seen on the Netflix series ‘Buying Beverly Hills’ between 2022 and 2024, have decided to depart from Mauricio Umansky’s real estate agency, The Agency, to establish their own exclusive real estate firm called Resident Group.
Grauman and Rosenfeld, who have made over $3 billion in career sales and are recognized on THR‘s Top L.A. Power Brokers list, are now teaming up with Side, a leading white-label real estate brokerage platform, to expand Resident with complete independence and state-of-the-art assistance.
Rosenfeld stated that the industry traditionally focuses on transactions rather than clients. In response, we developed Resident with the goal of flipping this approach. We aim for every aspect of the client experience to be as carefully designed as the homes themselves.
Grauman additionally pointed out that they departed from Umansky’s firm not due to frustration, but as a step towards establishing something of our own making. Our time spent at The Agency significantly shaped us, and we are profoundly thankful for the connections and personal growth we gained there. Resident symbolizes the development of our aspirations – a setting where thoughtful leadership, genuine service, and substantial client relationships are fundamental. The name ‘Resident’ encapsulates the essence of this endeavor: the people, not merely the properties.
In this scenario, Lauren Grauman will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), while Renee Pickering takes on the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). With a compact, expertly skilled workforce and a diverse portfolio catering to Los Angeles’s high-end real estate sector, Resident Group makes its grand entrance as the sixth largest team in the United States and the fourth largest in California during 2024. Moreover, it ranks as the second largest team in Los Angeles itself.
