Call Me Bae: Ananya Panday reveals her 'self-worth depends on people's opinions and criticism'; opens up about taking risks

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience observing and analyzing the lives of celebrities, I must admit that Ananya Panday’s candidness about her vulnerabilities is both refreshing and relatable. It’s not surprising that an actress who puts herself out there and takes risks would feel some level of anxiety about audience feedback. After all, we’re all human, and it’s natural to seek validation for our work and ourselves.

At present, Ananya Panday is actively promoting her first web series titled “Call Me Bae.” In this upcoming show, she portrays the character of a wealthy girl who finds herself needing to grind. Lately, Ananya shared her thoughts on the response from viewers regarding her performance. She confessed that a significant portion of her self-esteem is tied to their appraisals and critiques. Moreover, she discussed her willingness to take chances in her professional life.

During an interview with India Today, Ananya Panday was questioned about whether she’s developed a defense mechanism to handle the criticism she encounters. In relation to her professional endeavors, Ananya answered in the negative. She expressed, “I believe that is simply a phase I’m experiencing at this moment due to the kind of work I am engaged in.”

Ananya openly admitted that she values the thoughts and critiques of her audience about her work. She explained, “I expose myself quite a bit; I am venturing out with risks and unique ideas, so a significant portion of my self-worth is tied to people’s opinions and evaluations.” Ananya emphasized that the feedback from her audience is highly important to her.

In the same discussion, she made it clear that she wasn’t taking the criticism about her personal life into account. “At present,” she added, “I’m disregarding everyone’s views on other matters.”

In the upcoming series titled “Call Me Bae,” you’ll find a talented group of actors gracing the screen. Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur are among those who will take on significant roles. This comedic drama is helmed by director Collin D’Cunha and masterminded by Ishita Moitra. The production house, Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt Ltd, is responsible for this show, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra serving as the producers.

Besides the teaser, a love ballad titled “Vekh Sohneyaa” has been unveiled from the soundtrack of the series. This song emphasizes the rapport between Ananya Panday and Gurfateh Pirzada. The track is created, performed, and written by Charan and Bombay The Artist. The show “Call Me Bae” will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting September 6, 2024.

Beyond that, I’ll have the privilege of appearing in the gripping cyber-thriller flick, CTRL. Masterfully crafted by the brilliant Vikramaditya Motwane, this captivating tale will be streaming exclusively on Netflix starting October 4. I can hardly contain my excitement!
