Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies – How To Research Augments

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the Augments system in Black Ops 6 has truly revolutionized the way I approach Zombies mode. The level of customization it offers is nothing short of breathtaking and a far cry from what we’ve seen in previous games.

In the game Black Ops 6, the Augment system has resonated strongly with players, who appreciate it as one of the best new features due to its high degree of personalization. Previous installments did not offer this level of customization, making it a welcome innovation.

These Augments allow players to further modify their Perks, Ammo Mods, and Field Upgrades. This article explains how to research Augments to improve your Zombies experience.

How To Research Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies

First, you must hit level 11 to unlock the Augments feature in Zombies mode.

After completing that task, navigate to the Weapon’s section and find the Augmentation tab. Here, you can both equip and study Augmentations. Yet, prior to using them, make sure to unlock them by conducting research first.

Enhancements are categorized as Perk-a-Colas, Weapon Modifications, and Battlefield Improvements. Each category possesses both Major and Minor Enhancements designed to enhance your overall performance.

After the system has been opened, you’ll find an option to select an Augment for study. Important to note that you can study just one Augment at a given moment, so it’s crucial to plan your research strategy wisely.

As a gamer, I’d recommend kicking things off with Stamin-Up or Juggernog to boost my gameplay abilities. Depending on how I roll, I might opt for ammo modifications like Dead Wire or set up Energy Mines according to my playstyle.

Choose an Augment to concentrate on, making it your current area of study. Any experience points (EXP) earned in Zombie mode will contribute towards unlocking that specific Augment.

The perk, ammo mod, or field upgrade you’re researching will significantly speed up the process. You can still earn EXP toward your selected Augment even if you’re not actively using it, but progress will be slower.

Once you initiate your research project, you’ll advance by accumulating Experience Points (EXP) within the game. Most of your progress will stem from acquiring EXP in the Zombies mode. You can amass EXP in this mode by successfully completing levels, slaying zombies, and successfully finishing S.A.M. Challenges.

As you conquer more rounds against tougher opponents in S.A.M. Trials, your rate of advancement in research significantly increases, since these trials offer a quicker pace of progress, albeit they are usually harder.

Additionally, if you possess Double XP tokens, this could be an ideal moment to use them as they’ll speed up your research process significantly.

Once you accumulate enough experience points (EXP) to fully research an Augment, it becomes selectable within your equipment configuration.

It’s important to keep in mind that there’s no option for checking your Augment research advancement within the game itself. But, if you need to see where you stand, simply feel free to exit the game and then review your progress in the Augments section.

This feature gives you visibility on your progress towards unlocking new Augments, and it also enables you to change your research topic before resuming play.

It’s particularly beneficial to concentrate on the nearly unlocked Augment during your leisure time, so you can make the best use of it.

As you advance and acquire more Augments, you’ll experience a substantial advantage, particularly when the zombie horde becomes chaotic during the later stages of the game.
