Call of Duty somehow made its $80 King Kong glove even more ridiculous

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen some wild and wacky additions to games, but none quite like the B.E.A.S.T. Glove from Call of Duty. I remember the day it was first unveiled, the collective gasp that echoed through the gaming community when we learned its price tag – enough to buy a full game!

If you’ve been playing Call of Duty for over a few years, it’s likely that you’ve abandoned the pursuit of realism in the game by now. Among many factors that took us away from the military simulation (mil-sim) era, the introduction of King Kong stands out as a significant event.

As a gamer, I can say that taking down King Kong in that game was like nothing else – it redefined what we mean by “guerrilla warfare“. Among all the crazy new features, it was the beef B.E.A.S.T. Glove from our latest collaboration that really stole the show.

Call of Duty’s B.E.A.S.T. Glove just got a buff

#MW3: The $80 BEAST Glove has been UPDATED to SUPER YEET enemies across the Map!

Initially, we were incredibly excited about Call of Duty’s B.E.A.S.T. Glove, as it could be obtained by purchasing all four Godzilla x Kong bundles. However, this glove didn’t include the ability to throw enemies across the map, and given its real-world cost equivalent of $80, many were left astonished at the high price tag for a cosmetic item.

The developers are working on enhancing the B.E.A.S.T. Glove, making it capable of throwing opponents far away from the map. As demonstrated by account X DETONATED, you’ll be able to send enemies towards the sun, but is this new feature worth a $80 price tag?

It appears that the B.E.A.S.T. Glove was advertised as allowing you to “punch with the force of Kong,” but this update seems to have come a bit too late. A fan even expressed, “If they had introduced this feature from the start, I would have bought it immediately.”

A second individual commented, “It would have been great if that had been available from the start,” and a third chimed in, “This is how it should have been designed. It would have sold significantly more.” However, given that the cosmetic costs more than a genuine copy of Modern Warfare 3, it’s incredibly frustrating to see anyone spending money on this product.

Previously, Activision was criticized for implying that the B.E.A.S.T. Glove could be earned without spending extra money on Call of Duty (CoD). However, their recent change is appreciated. Yet, concerns persist about potential future practices involving the promotion and selling of multiple bundles using similar tactics.

It seems that Treyarch is opting for a more traditional, grounded style in Black Ops 6, which might mean a reduction in the extravagant and unusual character skins. On one hand, this could be beneficial as it focuses on gameplay; however, the popular, eccentric skins like the wild weed sloth and Nicki Minaj ones have been successful sellers despite their flaws.
