Capcom is counting on Monster Hunter Wilds to boost their performance, as they’ve recently reported a drop in sales and earnings for the last quarter. Given that they haven’t launched any significant games yet, except for the Mai Shiranui DLC for Street Fighter 6, it’s not surprising that they’re struggling financially. However, considering the success of previous Monster Hunter games, Wilds is likely to help Capcom recover.
As a dedicated fan, I’ve been keeping an eye on Capcom’s performance this year, and here’s what I’ve gathered: According to their recent announcement, the company has experienced a 16.3% decline in its overall performance compared to last year. However, the silver lining is that their operating income took a 35% hit too. On the brighter side, Capcom managed to sell 28.61 million units of their games this year, which is quite an increase from the 6.7 million units they sold last year. With the upcoming release of Wilds, there’s a strong possibility that Capcom could turn things around and make a comeback.
Enthusiasts worldwide are buzzing with anticipation over Monster Hunter Ridges, which appears to be the most expansive title in the series so far. Reminiscent of a worthy successor to Monster Hunter World, this latest generation game could potentially outshine its predecessors if Capcom handles it skillfully. With the expected DLC content that introduces new monsters for players to pursue, it seems poised for success.
Though exciting games are on their way from Capcom, you shouldn’t expect them to drop immediately. The anticipated remake of Resident Evil 0 might require a significant amount of time. Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which has been scheduled for 2026, is also something that we’ll have to wait for patiently.
Time will reveal if Monster Hunter Wilds meets our high hopes, as everything we’ve seen about the game so far looks promising. With its release scheduled for the end of next month, it seems poised to be a significant success for Capcom. Fingers crossed that the gameplay lives up to expectations and it performs well.
