Cardi B Finally Announces New Album ‘Am I the Drama?’

Cardi B has announced the official release date for her second studio album, titled “Am I the Drama“. According to her latest announcement on Monday, the album will be available on September 19, through Atlantic Records.

Is “Cardi’s First Album in Seven Years Known as Am I the Drama,” a follow-up to her successful 2018 debut “Invasion of Privacy,” which earned a Grammy for best rap album in 2019, achieved four-times platinum status, and produced numerous hit songs such as her breakout single “Bodak Yellow” and the diamond-certified collaboration with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, “I Like It”?

This new album comes seven years after her initial release and follows the footsteps of its predecessor, which saw great success and acclaim. The 2018 album was titled “Invasion of Privacy,” and it showcased several hit tracks like “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It.” The latter was a collaboration with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, and it received diamond certification.

Ever since fans have been eagerly waiting for a new studio album, there’s been quite a bit of anticipation. However, the release has encountered multiple setbacks. Despite these delays, Cardi B has kept us entertained with numerous singles in the meantime. For instance, she collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on the worldwide sensation “WAP” in 2020 and dropped the double-platinum hit “Up” in 2021. These two tracks will be included as the final numbers among the 23 songs on the album. In a recent reveal, Cardi unveiled the album cover, which showcases her wearing a red bodysuit that goes up to her head, with crows flying around and one landing on her foot.

Cardi expressed in a video posted on her Instagram Sunday, seven years of love, life, and heartache preceding an official announcement. “Seven years I’ve shown grace, but now, I’ll unleash fury,” she said. “I’ve discovered that power isn’t bestowed; it’s seized. I’m discarding my protective layers, and there will be no more tears. I’m not returning, I’ve moved past. The moment has arrived, the time is now.

Before the official album release, I was thrilled when Cardi B dropped her fresh single “Outside” a week ago – her debut track for 2025. I couldn’t help but groove along when she performed it live at Spotify’s Cannes Lions event!
