Carhartt WIP Finishes Off FW24 Strong

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless virtual winters and falls, I must say Carhartt WIP‘s Fall/Winter 2024 collection is like leveling up my real-life wardrobe. The nostalgic vibe of this final drop takes me back to the days of my old 16-bit console, where pixelated graphics and timeless designs ruled the virtual world.

Carhartt WIP’s Fall/Winter 2024 showcase hinted at a diverse set of inspirations. The initial release favored college-inspired aesthetics, while the second installation celebrated the scenic charm of autumn landscapes. In stark contrast, the third collection deviates significantly from both its predecessors.

To celebrate the launch of its Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Carhartt is drawing inspiration from the past while creating something new and modern. By delving into their archives, they’re combining workwear and streetwear styles in a unique way. The outerwear pieces are designed with a twist, showcasing traditional functionality enhanced by sophisticated details such as corduroy collars, gusset pockets, and convertible hoods.

Photographer Andrew White snaps the collection using a series of gritty 90s-style movie snapshots as inspiration. Noteworthy items in this collection are the classic Stanton Jacket, dyed with stones and maintaining its traditional blouson silhouette, and the Toronto Jacket, featuring a practical design with ripstop fabric and camouflage lining.

This season’s debut collection’s attire is still characterized by an earthy color palette, with “tarragon” green and “Malbec” wine tones standing out as dominant hues across the pieces. Additionally, jersey pieces that have been garment-dyed evoke a vintage vibe, appearing in faded yet rich, washed finishes.
