Monster Hunter Wilds refines the classic Monster Hunter experience by streamlining certain aspects, minimizing potential obstacles that might hinder you from enjoying its exciting weaponry and embedding them deep into a monster’s hide. However, in an attempt to make Monster Hunter more inviting, Wilds has trimmed back its difficulty so much that I barely needed to delve deeply into its intricate equipment system this time to reach peak predator status. The improved combat is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the series for me, but like the tempestuous desert storms in its stunning visuals, it burns brightly but not for long until Capcom introduces some formidable endgame monsters to test our mettle.

It’s been seven long years since “Monster Hunter: World” was launched, and now Capcom has delivered a response: “Monster Hunter Rise”. This series has traveled quite a distance from my initial experience with it (Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate), and this installment had a lot to measure up to. After investing countless hours into “Monster Hunter Rise”, it’s evident that Capcom has created what I believe could be their largest game ever, one that will likely be cherished just as much, if not more, than “Monster Hunter: World”. So, gather your Palico buddy and prepare to make the Forbidden Lands your home from now until 2025.
