The game Elden Ring, created by FromSoftware, is one of their most successful titles yet. It’s the first Souls title to feature a completely open world. Both players and critics loved it so much that it won Game of the Year at The Game Awards. Following Elden Ring’s success, FromSoftware released Shadows of the Erdtree as downloadable content, which added more to the game and offered new challenges. However, this expansion faced some criticism but still did well. This led many fans to expect great things from Nightreign, a separate adventure set in the Elden Ring universe. Unfortunately, it appears that some players are disappointed with how certain key concepts were executed in this standalone game.

Each Nightfarer that can be played has its own distinct story waiting to be uncovered via Remembrances. These stories manifest differently depending on the character, with Raider’s memories being more straightforward yet complex to unearth. Not only do these Remembrances offer an engaging way to delve into the characters, but they also reward players uniquely as well.

So, obviously, it’s nearly time to make an even bigger city.

Despite not being stopped, it has still managed to make a significant impact on the Steam concurrent player charts, much like Radahn with his terrifying meteor attack. According to SteamDB, Elden Ring Nightreign had an impressive debut with around 300,000 players. The number has since dropped to approximately 150,000, but some fluctuation is normal.

The primary cause behind these conflicting opinions appears to be the absence of a duos mode, which many players seem to agree on. Playing a game as an adult can already be challenging due to time constraints, but locating two others who are available at the same time is nearly impractical. This challenge was further exacerbated by the fact that there’s no voice chat, making it agonizing to connect with a random player for matchmaking.
