Following its launch on Xbox Game Pass this past week, the team at Obsidian Entertainment has been working tirelessly on bug fixes and updates. The latest update for Avowed, version 1.2.3, offers a host of changes aimed at optimizing gameplay and heightening player enjoyment. In this patch, the developers have primarily focused on tweaking the game’s balance by modifying several abilities, resulting in more engaging and balanced combat encounters. Furthermore, they have addressed numerous quest-related problems to facilitate smoother progression and fix bugs that boost immersion overall.

Martin isn’t limited to just his high fantasy series; he has contributed significantly in both literary and cinematic realms, writing numerous novels and short stories which have been translated into films, such as the upcoming movie “In the Lost Lands” starring Dave Bautista and Milla Jovovich. Moreover, he often provides small updates on the much-anticipated sixth Ice and Fire novel, The Winds of Winter, with the latest being in December 2024 where he confirmed it as a priority. However, there’s a possible project in the pipeline that might divert his focus if it progresses.

First unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase back in July 2020, Avowed has just been launched for both PC and Xbox Series X/S, marking another addition to the Pillars of Eternity universe. So far, critics have generally given Avowed positive reviews, lauding its gameplay, exploration, and storyline, but also pointing out a few bugs.
