For years, comic book enthusiasts have been praising the greatness of Marvel characters, but it was primarily the extraordinary success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that won over many others. The ability of Marvel to construct a vast cinematic universe, which now includes TV shows as well, and to seamlessly tie everything together with exceptional continuity was groundbreaking. What might surprise fans of the MCU and its extensive roster of incredible characters is that Marvel actually developed a screen-based universe for their characters decades earlier than the MCU’s launch.

There isn’t any TV franchise quite as popular and expansive as Bachelor Nation, boasting a large fanbase and numerous former contestants. Regrettably, one of those former contestants has tragically passed away at a young age. Hailey Merkt, who competed for Nick Viall’s affections in Season 21 of The Bachelor, died on July 26 at the age of 31.

As a long-time fan of Marvel Studios and their cinematic universe (MCU), I was absolutely thrilled to learn about the exciting news that emerged from San Diego Comic-Con this week. The revelation that Robert Downey Jr., who has played Iron Man so brilliantly, will don the villainous mantle of Doctor Doom in the upcoming movies Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, sent shockwaves through the Marvel community. I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and nostalgia, as Downey’s portrayal of Tony Stark has been an integral part of my cinematic journey within the MCU over the past decade.

In terms of outstanding Batman voice actors appreciated by fans throughout the years, Kevin Conroy is often considered unrivaled in excellence. This assessment holds up even when compared to live-action Batman films. Now, a fresh actor has stepped into the animated realm, and that’s Hamish Linklater. He voices the character on Batman: Caped Crusader, and he recently shared with TopMob how Conroy’s impact influenced his portrayal of the role.

When asked about their fondly remembered movie era, many people often point to the 1980s. This decade was marked by an abundance of blockbusters, with Spielberg reigning supreme and George Lucas perfecting the sequel artistry with “Star Wars”. Moreover, horror movies started catering to a wider audience through low-budget productions that consistently made money year after year thanks to numerous sequels, spinoffs, and new slasher characters. As a result, more intimate and avant-garde cinema had to take a backseat to allow commercial cinema to flourish.
