In 2025, a fresh romantic comedy titled “You’re Cordially Invited” has made its debut in the movie lineup. This film is now accessible to Prime Video subscribers and offers quite an entertaining experience. I had the pleasure of watching it, and let me tell you, it shines under the skilful guidance of director Nicholas Stoller. The script is strong, the humor is spot-on, and the performances by Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon are top-notch. However, another performer’s role in this film also deserves recognition for its excellence.

Pauley Perrette initially starred in the two-part spin-off of JAG that eventually evolved into NCIS. Over time, she gained immense popularity among viewers, making the long-running procedural arguably more successful than its predecessor. However, her success on the show did not come without challenges. For most of her tenure on the series, Perrette had to dedicate a significant amount of effort to it, which impacted other areas of her career as she mentioned to Paul Semel.

Initially met with skepticism when it first came out a decade ago, Universal Pictures’ expensive remake of Joseph Delaney’s 2004 novel “The Spook’s Apprentice” (the start of a series of 13 books) provides an enjoyable dose of campy entertainment that evokes the magical films of the 1980s, such as “The Dark Crystal,” “Legend,” “Dragonslayer,” “Willow,” and “The Black Cauldron,” along with Peter Jackson’s renowned “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Among the diverse cast, Jeff Bridges shines brightest in his portrayal of Master Gregory, a rough-and-tumble warrior against evil forces, reminiscent of his memorable role as the undead cowboy Roy Pulsipher in “R.I.P.D.” two years prior.
