The initial scene presents George Woodhouse (played by Michael Fassbender), a seasoned British intelligence official, amidst the bustle of a lively London nightspot. In secret, he encounters Meacham (Gustaf Skarsgård), his fellow agent who’s been entrusted with a crucial mission. Meacham verifies that a highly classified project has in fact been purloined by someone within the government. He then passes to George a list of five individuals who have the necessary clearance, skills, and chances to perpetrate the crime. One of these names is Kathryn St. Jean (Cate Blanchett), George’s cherished wife and an influential spy.

In a single setting with just one car and four characters, I found this movie expertly squeezes every drop of drama from an implausible situation that kept me on edge throughout. However, once the fuel tank was empty, the plot didn’t have much to offer beyond the initial thrill.

Previously this week, news broke out about a Disney+ animated series centered around Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, but as of today, Deadline has announced a different animated character who will star in their own show instead. It’s said that Jon Favreau is working on the new project, which will blend animation with live-action for an exciting twist.

The filmmaker Lin, known for directing four films in the Fast & Furious series (he was initially involved with the fifth one, Fast X, but stepped down during filming), has been chosen to helm the upcoming movie adaptation of BRZRKR. This project was announced back in 2021, following the commencement of the 12-issue comic book series by Boom! Studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lin will also produce this Netflix production alongside Keanu Reeves through his Perfect Storm banner, as well as Stephen Christy for Boom! Studios, Stephen Hamel from Company Films, and Ross Richie.
