In September last year, I found myself, much like many Americans, shedding tears as Gerry Turner, our beloved “Golden Bachelor,” embarked on his quest for love once more. Being a dedicated fan of the show, I wasn’t entirely shocked when Gerry and Theresa Nist announced their separation. While it left me feeling emotionally drained, I must admit it didn’t catch me off guard. As Joan Vassos prepares to star in “The Golden Bachelorette” for the 2024 TV lineup, I can understand why Bachelor Nation feels disillusioned. Yet, there’s one significant factor that should discourage viewers from tuning out, and it lies within the very history of this franchise.
